Hi. My name is Jackie Rose my father was Ivor Wagner. He lived in St. Catherine Street and his mothers name was Violet Wagner and her husband was Thomas Wagner. My father also served in Korea. If anyone knew him or the family please get in touch as I would be very interested to find out more about my family background. One of the family said that two of dads sisters married two bros from the Voyce family.
Thanks and look forward to hearing from anyone who has a few tails to tell about my dads family.

I’ve just found your site, it’s great and brought back many happy memories of my hometown. I moved to Adelaide, Australia in 1971 but still miss Gloucester, but I’m coming over for a visit later this year. As a child I lived in Northfield Rd and went to Finlay Rd school then on to Linden Rd school. I worked at Morelands, it was the best job I ever had.

We’re glad you found us, Wendy, and pleased we have brought back happy memories of your old home town.

Just found your site, what great memories it brought back.
I was born in Gloucester and lived for a time with my Great Grandmother in Worcester Street and then my Grandmother in Bearland Villas. Attended Kingsholm Kindergarten School. The Cadena Cafe was where my Grandmother took me for tea and the Guildhall was great for the Saturday night dances.
The Street party for the Queen’s Coronation and my stay at the Royal Infirmary - I can still smell the dreadful antiseptic.
I have lived in Scotland since 1968 but still try to visit Gloucester once a year. Last year I took my husband on a nostalgic tour. So much has changed over the years but I close my eyes and the years rolled back to those happy carefree times.
Look forward to seeing more photos of Gloucester again soon.

Love looking at the site and wonder if you have any idea where Duck’s Patch was situated in Gloucester. I have a copy of my grandparents marriage certificate where his address was given as Duck’s Patch.

Duck’s Patch was situated at the top end of Lansdown Road, Gloucester. It was once a farm owned by the Lane family, but there were also a number of houses there.

Can somebody tell me what Hatton Court Hotel was called after being the Hotel Tara and before Hatton Court? Paul@

You’ve got me there Paul. Anyone else know?
