On a musical note. The Guildhall dances were very popular in those days. The picture below is the Sylvan Dance Band.The band was made up by Bryn Davis (Piano) Billy Hodges (Drums) Gilbert Simmonds (Banjo) Con Lillywhite (Saxophone) Maurice Drew (Piano Accordion) Frank Ellis (also Piano Accordion)

This is the Maurice Drew Band playing at a function for Impregnated Diamond Products.The two accordion players are Dennis Dufty and Maurice Drew with John Drew on drums.
