Maybe we should have held a
competition to guess where
this picture was taken. I had no
idea when Richard sent it in.

The is the alley and subway in
Alfred Street leading on to
what was locally known in
those days as The 40 Acres.
The building on the right is
Gloucester Foundry.

Picture taken long before the
days of spray paint cans
and graffiti.

Right. A photograph of the
Park Paddling Pool in flood!

The Sudbrook would often burst
it’s bank in those days and this
was the result.

The camera is looking toward
the Spa Cricket ground.

Above Left. The old Sudbrook Railway line just after the tracks were removed. The pedestrian bridge can just be seen leading to the Park.

Above Right. King Square looking toward the Bon Marche (now Debenhams) and a view of the car park attendants hut.

Old Gloucester. The photographic nostalgia site
