Left:
The old Gloucester livestock
market when it was situated in
what was later to become
Kings Sq.

In 1907 there was a large
fire at a wood yard in
Gloucester Docks and,
it would appear from the
photograph on the right, a
vessel by the name of
Salamander helped to
put it out.

No prizes for guessing
that the picture on the
left is Staverton airfield
in the 1900s.

Our thanks to Alan for
finding this picture which
must be one of the
earliest taken of the
airfield.

Old Gloucester. The number 1 photographic nostalgia site.
